Being able to add book reviews online should be a service to most libraries as it allows the library to deliver more than just a resource available on the collection but to also bring closely an interactive community of book readers a taste of what its about and an overall shared interest.
Unfortunately, my local library does not provide this option on its catalogue, along with most public libraries.

I'm on the fence with this one. I think books are there for us to discover. Each of us takes away something different from a book, we all have different perspectives. I would not like to be influenced (positive or negative) by someone else's opinion. Having said that I do read reviews for restaurants or holiday accommodation and take notice of those.
